Some Comments from Clubs That Have Implemented It

Gary Gafke at Links at Challedon

Here are my random thoughts:

SIGNUP—Users

  •             Complete Schedule available at a glance
  •             Can sign up remotely, and cancel remotely.
  •             Can see who has signed up at a glance.
  •             Signup availability controlled automatically, on and off

SIGNUP—Admin

  •             Roster for an event automatically generated (click of button)
  •             Handicap indices automatically attached to roster (click of button)
  •             Email auto-prepared for transmission to host club
  •             Erroneous signups easily corrected
  •             Non-members easily deleted
  •             Makes building participation statistics much easier

Best Advantage:  What had to be done by hand, with signup sheets in a notebook sitting in pro shop can now be done from ANYWHERE and ANYTIME.  Anything with a browser and internet access allows complete signup and management.  Computer, tablet, smartphone from home, library, McDonalds, etc.

  •             Dramatically more efficient
  •             Zero travel requirements
  •             Instant access

Desirable New Features

Lengthen timeout time of Admin web site (if possible)

As far as I’m concerned, it’s the greatest thing since sliced bread!  Reaction from members has been extremely positive.  I have a feeling that even more advantages will become apparent as I get further into this.

  1. No manual lookup/input of handicaps of members signing up for mixers.  Rep only needs to update each member's handicap twice a month and that's it.

  2. Easy to determine "first come, first on list" when a club is limited to a maximum number members who can attend an away mixer.

  3. Simple process for Rep to produce email listing members signed up for an event to be sent in to away club.

  4. Easy for a member to cancel a mixer he/she signed up for themselves, and not have to email the Rep to have name removed from list.

  5. Members can plan well in advance since entire schedule is posted on website, and know when they are able to sign up for a mixer.

  6. A Rep can manage his/her club membership, and not rely on the good grace of the respective golf staff.  Saves the staff time, which would be greatly appreciated for sure.
